Same State vs Out of State
Both strategies work. Here is the data to help you decide.
Same State
Looks natural at local venues. A UT student with a TX ID at an Austin bar makes sense.
Out of State
Bouncers are trained to spot fake versions of their own state. An out-of-state ID gets less scrutiny.
What Works
FakeIDs data shows slightly higher success with out-of-state at strict venues. For casual bars, both work equally well.
If you stay local, go out-of-state from a neighboring state. If you travel, pick a large state like CA or NY.
