Working from the current Division of Vehicles design, we assemble the Kansas card one layer at a time, a printed Teslin core first, then the portrait and ghost laid down in high resolution, then the sunflower, meadowlark, and wheat that flare under UV, a PVC laminate carrying the holographic overlay, and finally a PDF417 written to AAMVA so a reader returns exactly what the front shows.
Hand a Kansas card to a doorman and the first thing it has to do is feel right, so we build ours around a Teslin core that carries the density and give of the credential the Division of Vehicles, an arm of the Department of Revenue, runs. The portrait, the ghost likeness beside it, and every data field are printed onto that Teslin core in high resolution rather than laid on after, so the KANSAS line and the numbers read sharp and clean before the laminate goes on. A PVC laminate then seals the print and carries the security layers, keeping the face smooth and slick. Bring a blacklight near and the sunflower, a western meadowlark, and rows of wheat flare up out of ink that reads as blank in daylight, hemmed by microprint too tight to fault with the naked eye, while a holographic overlay shifts across the surface. The back answers a scanner through a PDF417 keyed to AAMVA fields, while the magnetic stripe carries the same record. A compliant order seats the gold REAL ID star in the upper corner. Each parcel goes out tracked and unmarked with a free duplicate inside. Produced and sold strictly as a novelty for entertainment.

Hold UV to the Kansas card and the sunflower, a western meadowlark, and rows of wheat flare out of ink that reads as blank in daylight.
A second, paler copy of the portrait is printed beside the main photo, the same secondary likeness a checker glances for.
Printed. The KANSAS line and the data are printed onto the Teslin and sealed under the PVC laminate, so the face stays smooth rather than carrying a raised relief.
There is. A line of microprint too tight to read with the naked eye runs the borders, fencing the UV artwork.
The printed portrait, the ghost, the holographic overlay, and the UV layer all answer the quick checks a venue runs, and the PDF417 backs them on a scan.
On the compliant build the gold star sits in the upper corner, set where the Division of Vehicles places it.
